Setting Up GoodLink for Thoughtbus Hosted Exchange

 

Introduction

This procedure walks through the steps required to install Good Mobile Messaging (GoodLink) on a supported device.  The software supports a wide range of devices, including iPhone, Android, most Windows Mobile and Palm Treo devices, and many others.  To check whether your device is supported, see the following matrix:  http://www.good.com/support/handhelds-supported .  Thoughtbus runs Good for Enterprise version 6, and supports activation on all supported devices.

 

Pre-requisites

You will need the following items to get started:

 

-          GoodLink – supported device

-          Thoughtbus mailbox with GoodLink service designated

-          Wireless network connectivity from your current location (i.e., "bars"), or a WiFi internet connection

 

 

Procedure

The procedure for setting up GoodLink is essentially the same on all devices.  The installation is done entirely over the air, using your phone’s data connection.

 

1.     Once your user account has been provisioned on our GoodLink server, you will receive an email with an activation PIN.  Make a note of this.

2.     On your device, start the internet browser and open the link http://get.good.com

3.     That site will detect your device, and will prompt you to begin transferring the installation package

4.     Once it’s done, you may be asked if you want to save and/or run the application – answer “Yes”

5.     If it does not, exit your web browser and launch the GoodLink installer.

6.     You will be stepped through the installation process.
